The book was like new but I was extremely annoyed to see that it had at least 4 stickers (front back and side) that were hard to remove without destroying the cover. It took me and my friend (who has art restoration experience) over an hour to remove them. Why would a book seller deliberately deface the books they are selling??????

I liked that this novel touched on some serious subjects that need to be heard, yet it was still a good and quick read. Forman's voice is strong, simple, and forward, and I liked the way she developed each character. The story really highlights what Cody goes through, as well as other characters, instead of focusing its attention wholly on Meg; this was a big factor in my positive review because if you take your own life, you don't get to tell your story. Cody's character even comments on this fact. It's full of mystery, tragedy, drama, romance, and even a little comedic relief here and there. I cannot express how much I enjoyed reading this -- I think it only took me about three or four days to breeze through it because I loved it so much. Forman is a fantastic author, and the way she developed this story to highlight and pay homage to a real-life occurrence of the same situation was truly touching, inspiring, and even heartbreaking. Although it's labeled as YA fiction, I think it's for all readers. I enjoyed reading this YA fiction as an adult; I picked this one up to soften my distaste for novels in this category after seeing "13 Reasons Why" come on the scene and feeling like there had to be a more realistic portrayal of the questions we all have surrounding suicide and mental illness. THIS BOOK is the one people should be reading if they want a closer look. Maybe not solely this book, but this one is a good start, and it helps start the conversation that needs to be had in our society about what we can do for those with mental illness, and sometimes, maybe even what we cannot do, or what we feel we could have done, or what we will always wonder, day after day... THAT is the impact that this type of tragedy has, as this novel depicts. Beautiful story - I definitely recommend it.

This is definitely a book you have to go into understanding the subject matter. The heroine isn't unlikable, she is a realistic representation of someone who lost the center of their world and support system to an unexpected tragedy.That's a very painful difficult experience when you have no one else to trust or confide in. Building relationships takes trust and time. People around her have not behaved in a way to build trust and being suddenly alone doesn't change that. You don't just leap into am intimate friendship because the last one you had is gone there is no replacement waiting in the wings.All that said i did enjoy this book. Its a good journey story about evaluating your perceptions and first impressions. Muddling through a tragedy as best you can when you have no one to turn to. I do have an appreciation for darker subject matter so it may not suit tastes of the majority but i feel it has important lessons.

Let me first say that I am an avid fan of Ms. Forman. I have used her novels If I Stay and Where She Went in my eighth grade class and the students adore her descriptive writing and ability to pull you into the story and characters.That being said, I was a bit disappointed in this book. The main character, Cody, was very well described and the story had substance. I also was impressed with the way Ms. Forman tackled the subject of suicide. However, I am disappointed because most of the story dragged. It told the story of Cody but didn't give much insight into the true Meg. I wouldn't use this story with my class, not because of a rough story, but trying to analyze and evaluate a mediocre storyline and plot. Also, I would caution teachers against using this in class because it may give students ideas.It is an okay read. I will continue reading books by Ms. Forman. This just didn't really cut it for me.

Here's what I like about the Holt textbooks in general (as well as this one in particular):1. Pretty widespread adoption. As a teacher and tutor, I need books that have problems and/or example types that my students are familiar with. Holt's in enough classrooms (at least in CA) that a lot of students are already familiar with their general layout/format.2. Nice examples -- they have a nice spread of examples that are worked out through each chapter, with pretty detailed explanations (why did they choose these numbers as the factors? Why wouldn't something else work, etc)3. Clearly laid out practice that has a mix of word, multiple choice and straight-forward, variables-only/skills-only.So, why isn't this a 5-star review?While I like Holt better than the Saxons of the world (where they split every concept into a "lesson" and are harder to navigate, I lie the McDogall/Littel Algebra books a little better because I think they provide more word problems, as well as larger practice sections (which don't HAVE to be assigned, but which are good as problem banks for students struggling with a particular concept).

I thought I was receiving the 2007 edition instead it is 1986. They need to make clear what year and or edition it is. Now I have a book that is of no use to me.

This book not only provides the answers to the student textbook, it does a good job of explaining how the answers are reached. And I really appreciate the online help provided by Holt as well. It is worth every cent to have the Teacher's edition along with the regular text unless you excel at math.

I would give 5 stars for the product I recieved for less money but they gave me the Texas Edition. The information did not say Texas edition. I know there is minor differences but my OCD don't like the picture and state standard testing differences from the Teacher's Edition and the Student edition.

I love this cover out of all the others this series has! The second part of the series broke my heart but this one broke it even more, I mean I'm glad that Avery is finally starting to come out of her shell and say how she feels and half the time I want to kill Sean for being an ass but then the times he is playful you can't help but love him to pieces, "If I'm bludgeoned by a piggy kite and lose my mind, you have to promise to tell people that I was done in by something much more manly." When Avery halls the balls to actually admit how she feels about him and Sean's reaction it practically killed me I mean who the hell would have the guts to say something like this to a guy, "It doesn't matter what you do or what you say, I'm desperately afraid of you, Sean. Everything about you seems to bring me back to life. You're voice, your words, your face...I can't think when you're there and when you're gone, it's worse." It really does take a lot to say how you feel but let me tell you what I wouldn't have handled it the way Avery did I would have gone wild. The way this part of the series ended I need and i mean NEED the next part ASAP!

This series caught my attention because of the title. I had just finished reading My Nights With Kate (Jack Ryker) which was a very steamy story that started out as an arrangement as well. In this book, several similar elements surrounding Sean come into play, but he is a much darker character which results in incredible mood swings. This is definitely a bi-polar version of Kate's story, but I must say the author does a good job of leaving you hanging and needing to see what happens next!This installment is quite a day in the life of Avery and Sean. Avery starts out devastated, having the worst day of her life. Then at about the 25% mark, things turn around and it suddenly becomes one of the best days of her life. However, by the time they have lunch she is back on the downward slide into incredible despair. The fact that she made bi-polar burgers for lunch lets us know that the author knows exactly what she's doing. By the time the day comes to an end more is revealed about the brooding, volatile Sean and it leaves us wondering... now what? I'm betting on more angst and roller coasters.Some readers don't like the fact that each book is a short story as it breaks up the reading experience. However, I look at it as being similar to a TV series where you are left hanging each week and have to tune in next time to see what happens. H.M. Ward does a good job of building tension and curiosity, so as long as each book remains consistent in quality I have no problem with it. The only thing is, with everyone investing a significant amount of time and money in the series, there better be a spectacular ending somewhere down the line!

As Avery & Sean's time together progresses, Avery has an incredibly difficult time separating feelings from Sean & it just being sex as a business transaction. After a chance meeting in the cemetery where Avery's parents are buried, she finds out about one of Sean's secrets. With this new revelation & an intense intimate encounter, Avery feels that her feelings for this messed up man must be mutual. When Avery returns to the dorm Mel confronts her & makes sure she understands that she cannot fall for Sean & that it is just sex. Nothing more, Nothing less. With new determination later that evening Avery decides to follow Mel's advice. But in doing so she learns more about Sean than she ever bargained for & is left with her life spin out of control one more time.These shorts stories are both full of humor & intense emotions. Just when things feel good, Avery is smacked to ground one more time. Will she be able to do what needs to be done in order to survive?

This is one of my favorite serials ever. It’s sexy, sassy, funny and dark.This serial belongs to the dark and brooding Sean Ferro. He’s the first Ferro I was introduced to, and he holds a piece of my heart. As the series start out, Sean is very mysterious, and to be honest – 15 volumes in (when I’m writing this review), he still is a bit of an enigma. There is still a lot to be learned. He’s a dark SOB, this one. He’s got his fetishes, but holy wow is he delicious. And scary. Seriously, I love him – but if I had known him IRL I would have been scared s***less, and kept my distance.Then we have Avery. This girl’s got some spunk. I mean she has to, given that Sean is her love interest. She’s a struggling student when we first meet her, and when her best friend, Mel, realizes this, she reveals what her REAL job is. She’s a high dollar call girl. Ms. Black latches on to Avery immediately, and if Avery just takes one client, it could solve all her problems. She only has to say yes. Problem is she only wants one guy, Sean. Enter: a s***load of trouble.“I’m rewarded, uh, I mean punished, with a slap to my backside.” - AveryThis is an erotic romance, and you can expect some mighty steamy scenes. Some of the volumes more so than others, because there is a hell of a lot going on in this series. The Arrangement, and Sean basically, was the catalyst for all the other books from this same world. Sean has made an appearance is in every spin-off so far. So this is obviously a great place to start if you are curious about H.M. Ward’s books. Just remember to start at the beginning. You would not understand half of what’s going on if you jumped into it halfway through.It’s important to note that this is a fan driven series. Essentially that means that as long as the fans want more, there will be more. And I honestly can’t picture the day we won’t want more. So if that is not for you, I recommend you go pick up something else, because this story has been going on for a good while now, and I certainly hope it will go on for a long time to come – as long as Holly wants it to.Another important note is that these are split up in volumes, and each one end on a cliffhanger (Holly is the queen of cliffhangers). It’s nerve-wracking every time. And it is one of the tings that keep it just as exciting as it was in the beginning. As well as the fact that they’re always fast paced, and it never gets boring. Each volume starts off exactly where the last one left off. I always like to re-read the latest volume before the next one releases because you really get thrown right back into the action without any recaps. It really is kind of built like a TV-show, which is so awesome, because something like that is currently in the works! *fangirls* Just Imagine seeing THE Sean Ferro on screen…

Lauderdale, Florida. His medical school training (MD) was completed at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City. He completed a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery and an internship in general surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital/ Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he also served as Chief Resident in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Portnof completed a fellowship in pediatric maxillofacial surgery/ craniomaxillofacial surgery in the Department of Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery, Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, Australia. Tim Leung, DMD, MHSc, MD is a private practice oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and New York, NY. He is also a faculty member of the oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program at Jacobi Medical Center Department of Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (Bronx, NY). I bought this book to study for my part two boards along with the dental decks, and the Mosby's review. I made it through the other two study materials without finding any errors and it really helped me study. I didn't make it far until I started noting errors in this book. The answer described would imply B is the correct answer but the answer page said it was C, misspellings, questions that really don't matter, and then I got to page 27 and found the following sentence."After being presented with many treatment options including rockets power dancers (RPD)... etc."SERIOUSLY?!?! RPD stands for rockets power dancers? I threw this book at the wall and went back to studying old released questions that might actually help me. That's right, I made it through 10% of this book before realizing how terrible this book is and I'm kind of embarrassed it took me that long. Do NOT waste your money on this book. You are better off using this money to pay a 5th grader to tell you what is on the test than to waste time reading this.TERRIBLE BOOK.

Worse book ever. It is full of mistakes. I dont know how anybody even dared to print a launch this book. It really is a disgrace. I'm so frustrated.

This book is not updated and has multiple questions that ask you to refer to images that do not exist. Sloppy, full of errors.

Was good to have more practice questions, and I like the explanations along with the answers. I saw a lot of the topics covered on my actual exam - very helpful.

For someone who enjoys learning I go so much from this book about Billie Holiday and the things like religion that shaped who she was and became.In RELIGION AROUND BILLIE HOLIDAY author Tracy Fessenden takes us into the background of one of the world's most beloved singers, allowing us to see how the way she was raised influenced not just how she lived but the way she was able to deliver music that the world would come to enjoy.
