This book is colorful, fun, and short (I'm talking to you tired parent at bedtime). The story is about a mild mannered garbage truck who transforms into a hero when the city is in peril (a la Superman). My two year old requests this book over and over while my five year old was happy to read it once and then move on. The only negative I can think of is there is one page with a overhead view of the city but no words (?). My toddler doesn't notice (we just kind of look at that page) and it doesn't detract from the story.

I would not have thought this book would be such a hit, but my 1.5 year loves it! He cheers when the truck becomes super truck. Our child liked it so much I bought him the "Little tug" for a gift. Both of the books are extremely simple stories with nice pictures. My husband and I love them because they make a quick read and are often the book of choice at bedtime.

The story touches on two genres that appeal to young boys: trucks and superheros. In the city there are many brave trucks, ones that fix power lines, or put out fires or tow disabled vehicles, but when a blizzard hits the city, it is a lowly garbage truck that saves the day. The glasses wearing tow truck sneaks into a garage and emerges as SUPERTRUCK! He digs out the entire city; freeing the bucket truck, the fire engine and the tow truck along the way. Where is the truck that saved the city? Just collecting the trash as he does every day.This is a great book for early readers: the pictures help tell part of the story, the font is large and easy to read, there are just a few words on a page and the words are well spaced.

Our 1.5 year old loves this book, he wants this book read to him multiple time each night.However, it wasn't captivating enough for our 3 year old.

Super cute story about the trash truck in NYC that clear the streets after a snow storm.

My son loves reading this book, and demands it almost every night. He is a big fan of trucks and the simple illustrations help him to more easily identify what he is seeing.

Our grandson (age 2) absolutely loves this book. He wants it read over and over. He's very into trucks, and this simple story of the garbage truck which turns into Super Truck really engages him. Super Truck comes to the rescue during a snow storm - very appropriate for this winter season! I enjoy all the great illustrations which help tell the tale.

yes... Cengage wants to rip students off by printing out newer edition textbooks. You cannot by older editions even though everything is identical because little things like numbers on problems or exercises have been altered. It's stupid! I do not get why I have to pay extras just to keep cengage make same thing over and over again

Wish I could give this ZERO stars. Does NOT include the activation code for CengageNOWv2, despite the product descriptions. This will cost you ANOTHER $160 from the publisher (cengage.com). DO NOT buy from this seller if you need CengageNOWv2 for your class. TOTALLY MISLEADING product description.

Did not come with access code as promised, really dissapounted as this was the while reason i didnt just buy the online version is because the code was supposed to come with it.

This is by far the worst textbook ever. The example are woefully inept. I actually stopped reading the book after the 4th chapter and managed to get a B in the class. That's not saying anything about me having any super star accounting ability in any way. I needed help, the book was absolutely not helpful.

I really don't like this book at all. My teacher assigns a lot of the problems from the end of chapters, and they even have example problems, but they don't even provide answers to how you answer them. I'm a person who likes to learn from seeing an answer and reverse engineer it, but I can't even do that with this book. I wish instructors would steer clear from this book in the future. Awful book

This is a great Bible in the sense that it is colorful, has good notes and tid bits the kids will enjoy, and it is the Word of God. However, I bought this for an 8yr old that is a strong reader (it says it is for ages 9-12).She will be able to read it just fine, but the bible has it's share of adult topics, like the Levite and his concubine in Judges 19... " 'Bring out the man who came to your house so we can have sex with him' ".... And it gets much more graphic than that. I was hoping for a translation a little bit more subtle. Explaining sex itself, bisexuality, and rape to an eight year old is not something most parents want to have to do when reading the Bible with their kids. I guess I just want parents to notice that this is NOT a kids translation.... It is regular NIV. Don't think it should be suggested for 9yr olds unless it's NIrV or something I guess.

On nearly every page there are colorful little blurbs that help emphasize a passage or ask a "Did you know?" type of question that my son (8 yrs) really enjoys. The type is not too small, either, which was his complaint about other bibles. He's been reading his bible multiple times a day and has even tried to carry it with him to his baseball game once.You will not be disappointed!

Perfect for my 9 yr old daughter. I find myself really getting in to the Bible time that we have together. Now My daughter asked me to read the Bible with her. Prayers answered.

I have been looking for a Bible for my daughter. They use this one at church with the kids at Awanas. I like the tabs on the side of the bible, which help in locating the different books in the bible. I like the summaries at the beginning of each book giving a small background about the author, the book, why it was written, and important passages. I also like the “Did You Know” questions and “Words of Treasure” throughout the bible. “Words of Treasure” are great verse for kids to memorize. This is a great bible for a middle school aged child.

My 3rd grader asked for a bible for his birthday and this is such a great bible. He lives reading it, I love the people you should know sections, different sections with important info from chapters. It's easy to follow. I'm extremely happy with the purchase.

I gifted this bible with the Carry case to my 9 year old for her First Holy Communion. She loves it so much. She has spent time reading it every night before bed and finds it very relatable and understanding. She is constantly telling me what she learned. I may need to read it myself too!

This is an adult bible that has been designed to interest children. I purchased one for myself and two of my adult friends. There is lots of thought provoking questions, and lots of color on each page. It makes it very visually appealing to read also. I highly recommend this Bible. It has lots of study helps and maps at the back All the things that can develop more involved Bible study.

My son goes to private school and the school sent out an email letting parents know all students must have this. I ordered it for my 6 year old who is in first grade. This bible is really cool. Lots of pictures, so colorful, and brings more excitement to the stories. My son and I both think it is a great bible and I'm excited his school discovered this! It is quite a bit heavier than regular bibles due to the thicker pages though.

It's also a quick read so you can get a lot out of it in a short amount of period. I just moved into a new analytics-centric role and I will be able to utilize a lot of the suggestions in this book.

Bob Gaines has been a professional rock climbing guide since 1983 and is the owner of Vertical Adventures Rock Climbing School, voted the top rock climbing school in America by Outside magazine. Bob has worked extensively in the film business as a climbing stunt coordinator. He was Sylvester Stallone’s climbing instructor for Cliffhanger and doubled for William Shatner in Star Trek V, as Captain Kirk free-soloing on El Capitan. Jason D. Martin is a professional mountain guide, writer, and a senior guide at the American Alpine Institute. He has guided in Red Rock Canyon, Joshua Tree National Park, the Cascades, the Sierra, the Alaska Range, in Canada's Coast Range and in the Andes of Ecuador, Bolivia and Peru. Jason is an AMGA Certified Rock Guide and an AMGA Single Pitch Instructor program provider. This book provides a good overview of what you'll need to know for your AMGA Single Pitch Instructor (SPI) course and assessment. If you plan to take that course this book is a no-brainer. You just have to buy it and read it.There are a few shortcomings:* The photos of how to tie the knots skip a lot and it is impossible to learn the knots from the book.* The photos of what not to do should be clearly labeled with a red cross bar or WRONG overlay on the photo. If you flip causally through the book and look at the photos some very wrong stuff is there and you have to read the text to know that it is not recommended.* The religious debate on anchor systems rages on. Should you set up a Joshua Tree System with Tether or a Backside System? I realize the AMGA doesn't want to pick sides and will say either is acceptable, but the book doesn't even try to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of various anchor systems.

Excellent, straightforward information about how to stay safe at the crag. Every guy who's put his hand on a rock has an opinion about how to set anchors, belay, etc -- this book gives you the answers on how to do things the right way. Spend the 10 or 15 bucks and read the book. It might save your life.

I bought this book to supplement my lessons with an AMGA guide to learn how to set up toprope climbs. I used it many times to practice and reinforce everything I learned. It is really well written and my favorite book in terms of the knowledge contained within. As common sense would dictate this is not a book to teach your how to toprope...it is a reference to what you have learned?

The gold standard. Every climber who "takes friends" should read. Heck, every climber should read it!

this book will get you ready for the course, but there is a lot to learn outside of the book as well. Training and time is the only way to become truly proficient at the skills out lined in this book. over all good book, quality pictures.

This book rocks. Love having a manual as I move towards SPI certification. I also like adding guide-level best practices to my own recreational climbing experience. Love the "institutional anchors" chapter.

Fantastic instructional manual if you already have some basic knowledge of anchors, ropework and climbing technique. It is written as an instructional manual for climbers looking to turn into guides so if you're brand new this probably isn't the best option for you.
