However, looking at the pictures and hook sizes, it's not hard to figure out... as long as you know what you're doing.There are a few patterns that are repeated in some of the books, but for the most part it gives a large array of projects. While the projects themselves are not exactly unique, and similar patterns easily found for free online, it is sill a nice collection that ranges from as small as rings to full size throws and covers all sorts of seasons.I'd recommend this book only if you are extremely well versed in racing long written instructions. Otherwise, I'd pass.

I was interested in completing The Catch All Crochet Bowl. The instructions read to single crochet 10 times in the center ring. The next several rows that make the base state "turn and single crochet around the row....". Nowhere does it say to increase stitches. So I get a tube, not a base. Once the base is done the instructions are to decrease in one row. So, if I follow the instructions as stated I would go from 10 stitches to 8 stitches.I see the same basic instructions for The Coin Catcher and the Fast and Easy Dish Scrubby. Note that the picture of the Fast and Easy Dish Scrubby clearly shows that each row after the first row contains more than 10 stitches.

I like to dabble in creative hobbies. I had not done this before so I bought a few Wheat Weaving books and am enjoying the more simple patterns. It is a great book….

This book is amazing. It explains almost everything you want to know about this beautiful straw craft. I can see how it can lead into spinning, plaiting, braiding, ribbon work, gold work, Brazilian embroidery etc. I can not say enough about his book.

Lot's of great ideas. Creative ideas. They are very sophisticated, but do able. I'm looking forward to trying the ideas.

A highly interesting introduction to the art of straw weaving and knotting. My fingers are itching to get to it. Beautiful pictures and easy to follow instructions. Well worth a try. I love the publishers note that no models were used in the book but for the Author. A very human touch.

The banter between Junior and Desiree is fun - she is a strong character which makes the dominance/submission all the more beautiful. I mean like literally hated this character and almost didn't purchase this book. I know hate is a strong word but, in this case, it's not nearly strong enough. This man has been a total jerk in every book of the series, and I wanted to string him up by his cajones! lol... I thought it would be impossible to make Junior likable or relatable, and certainly not redeemable. But I'm a longtime fan and totally addicted to Rose's books, and I just could not resist the temptation. Soooo, against my better judgment, I one-clicked and dove in. Best decision ever! I don't mind admitting when I'm wrong (usually), but in this case, I was very wrong, because I LOVED Joker's Wild! And mafioso kingpin Junior Tacone is my new main man! *swoon* Santo Tacone Jr, aka Junior, is the eldest son and currently the stand-in patriarch/mob boss for the mafioso Tacone family while his father, Don Santo Tacone Sr, serves time in prison. If you thought the other men of the family were domineering, you ain't seen nothing yet! Junior Tacone is the most alpha of them all! This story reminded me a little of Beauty and the Beast. Naturally, Junior was the beast and his beauty was smart, sassy, snarky, capable, and very beautiful nurse Desiree Lopez. OMG, Desiree was a real hoot! Never one to be intimidated, Desiree stood her ground and refused to be cowed by Junior. She had his number from the get-go, but she was smart enough to know she had to tread carefully. Oh, she still sassed him, but she also knew how to play the game and when to keep her mouth shut. Desiree was one smart cookie, but my heart ached for her. Junior and Desiree's mutual attraction was evident in the first chapter and sizzled through the entire book. It was so much fun watching Junior and Desiree dancing around each other, trying to deny the inevitable. When Junior Tacone abducted Hispanic spitfire Desiree Lopez and had her brought to his home to save his brother's life, he got a whole lot more than he ever bargained for, because Desiree brought him to his knees - literally! Those two were like a powder keg with a very short fuse, just waiting to explode. And explode it did, with steamy passion and hot love scenes that even made my almost 70-year-old engine purr. lol... But that's not the only thing I adored about this story. It was filled to the brim with danger, drama, angst, suspense, secrets, sassy banter, humor, passion, romance, and a boatload of steam. Joker's Wild is not your traditional sweet love story. It's raw, emotional, heartbreaking, and filled with angst, but it's also heartwarming, as well. Sigh... Needless to say, I'm so glad I didn't listen to myself.So, did I like this book? No, I loved it! It's was sexy, engaging, well written, and well crafted with complex characters that, literally, exploded from the pages, demanded my undivided attention, captured my heart, and held me prisoner from the first chapter to the last. I snickered, snorted, giggled, sniffled, and sobbed through the entire book, but by the end, I was happy, satisfied and entertained. At almost 70 years young, I should know better than to judge a book by its cover, or in this case, character. I should be ashamed of myself. Nothing is impossible with a talented author like Rose at the helm. Would I recommend it? You bet, and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain some violence, explicit language, and steamy sex. And you know, it also includes spanking. That's just a given in a Renee Rose story. lol... Each book in the series can be read as a standalone, but they're soooo much better when you read them sequentially. Will I read this author again? Absolutely! I can hardly wait to read the next book of the series, Queen of Clubs, which will feature Alessia Tacone, the only female of the Tacone siblings. And finally, was I entertained? Completely! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read! And Renee Rose, I bow to the master. You made me eat my words!

I've been a fan of Rene Rose's mafia books for quite a long time, and fell in love with this one too! Love Junior's dominance and Desiree's sassiness! Hope to read the stories of Paolo, Gio and Alessia too, thank you once again Rene!

I love this! I think it might just be my favorite book in the series, so far. I think Junior is a nice guy buried under what his father made him. He is misunderstood by his siblings and hurt by his circumstances. The day he met his lovely nurse is the day he really began to live. She is the perfect woman for him! I’m so glad they managed to find their HEA. I hope that the rest of the siblings get their own stories. I think they all must have a soft side buried under their dark suits. Well except the sister, we can see her soft side. It’s her hidden needs that only the right alpha male can bring out in her. I can’t wait to read the next book!

I gotta be honest... I did NOT want Junior to have a story. As far as I was concerned after reading the other books he could go take a long walk off a short pier so Renee had an extremely tall order making me like Junior let alone want him to be happy. Mission accomplished. This book will teach me not to judge a book by its cover. I didnt know his story, I didnt know why, now I do and hes as sympathetic character as any of them. This ties for my favorite with King of Diamonds, the original. This one is 100 times more mafioso than the rest but it's really really good. Like. Really. I love me a white knight.

This book packs everything to love. Junior is diamond hard but misunderstood by most of his family. Desiree has to be one of the best female character Renee Rose has written in a while. I love that she's comfortable with her emotional vulnerability but far from being a pushover. This book delivers on a number of levels and I was sorry to see it end. Bravo for the best addition to the series yet!

I am a huge fan of Renee Rose’s Mafia series and this book did not disappoint. I started it and read it to the end in one sitting. The story is excellent and the characters are well defined and interesting. This is the story of Junior Tacone, who we meet in the previous books but never got to know. This is such a fun read!

This book deals with the war from the Allied and German side as it was fought on the Western Front. I found it very interesting and full of details on the weapons, tactics and SANFUS that each side comitted. It expalined how the Germans were able to over come the stagnation of trench warfare with new infiltration tactics while the Allies continued with bloody wave attacks that gained no ground. Eventually the British blockade of Germany, the US entery into the war and the tank lead to the defeat of the Central Powers. If you are interested in a fast paced descriptive view of tactics as practiced on the Western Front then read this book.

THis should not be a book, but some sort of a College study, nothing more than that! It's boring, unconclusive, adds nothing new to the reade acostumed with WW I literature !!!

I checked this book out from our local library a few years back not expecting much from it. With 'TV Books' I though it would come up short concerning its coverage of WWI.But to my great surprise this book was an interesting read. The maps and photographs blend with Holmes' narrative to give the reader a very comprehensive offering of WWI. Nothing superficial here! I liked it so much that later when in a larger area bookstore, purchased a copy for myself.While I have no real, serious critique to offer concerning this book, I do feel the photographs illustrate more the British and Austrailian efforts in the Great War. But rather than be set back by this I am pleased because most WWI books I own or have read concentrate mostly on the 'doughboys.'Not an expert on this, did minor in history in college. However, it is just beyond me how any reasonable reader could not enjoy this fairly comprehensive book on WWI.

Richard Holmes has written a no-nonsense concise guide to both World War I and the controversial historiography that has dogged the conflict ever since. He summarizes the events of the Western Front (only--other theaters are mentioned only as they impact Germany's decisions about force allocation) quickly, perhaps too quickly for my taste. He slows down a little bit when reviewing the major controversies from the war over tactics, strategy, and war guilt, where he examines the different schools of thought with an even hand. Sometimes his hand is too even: on some topics, particularly when discussing the question of why trench warfare degenerated into such bloody, futile slaughter, I wanted Holmes to be bolder in naming names.But these are petty disagreements with what is a very successful attempt to summarize the events on the Western Front. I hope Holmes will someday give other theaters similar treatment.

i'm not an expert on to the western front, but this book allowed me to have a very good historycal and military picture of the events on the western front. for me this is an excellent briefing for further readings into more detailed section/ops on this front.

They are good at teaching because 1) they use color. 2) they all start with 4 pages of background about the war, so you understand the context. 3) they are divided into chapters, and each chapter tells the story of a battle from one person's perspective. It may be an ally or a civilian, or it may be an enemy, so the author gives you a good sense of what it is like to be in a war. 4) the book has 4 pages in the back explaining the battles. 5) glossary and index. The glossary explains words like: expeditionary force, puppet government, USAF, vector.First battle: The Battle for Britain, told by John Bentley-Beard. He was a British pilot. He destroyed a Heinkel, a Messerschmitt, and made it home despite low fuel. In the second half the battle, he was swarmed by enemy aircraft and anti-aircraft guns. He was shot down at the same time he shot a Dionier 17 out of the sky. He had to bail out and his leg was injured. He survived.Second battle: D-Day, Omaha Beach, told by Harold Baumgarten. We was an American infantry soldier. This part has blood. Blood underwater, blood on the beach, blood in the face. Omaha Beach was a hard-fought invasion site -- it was a killing ground. We won because there was no way out, except forward. There was no going back. The lightly wounded kept fighting. The heavily wounded got evacuated out. This was an exciting chapter. I have respect for these veterans.Third battle: The Bridge at Remagen, told by Alexander A. Drabik. He was an American infantryman. The Germans tried to blow up the bridge, but instead, they "holed" it -- they punched holes in the roadbed. The Pershing tanks helped win this battle by blowing up the gun towers and a barge. You "see" hear the bullets and explosions all over the page. This chapter is action-packed. The Americans won the battle.Warning for the squeamish: this book can get gory

I love Exhibition! This is a wonderfully crafted book. Every single image delivers a story worth telling. This book exhibits so much life. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of the locations and the stunning shots of nature. I appreciate how much work went into this book and still manages to feel effortless. The way the gorgeous men are presented is beautiful and sensual. Kevin McDermott doesn't shy away from showcasing his subjects in all their glory the way other photographers do. I admire that he is brave enough to "go there" and have his work remain tasteful. As for the physical book, it is a nice size and weight. The pages are high quality. I highly recommend buying this book and I look forward to the next project Kevin McDermott brings to us.

Kevin McDermott outdoes himself with this one. Alot of full frontal shots, all tastefully done, with some absolutely gorgeous men(and nice to have some previously unseen Todd Sanfield shots, though it would be great to see a book dedicated to either Ryan Young or Justin Clynes, both of whom are stunning). Highly recommended.

every single page is simply perfect; be the sources of light fell onto the objects or the palette of colors caught though the lens to the "diptyching" of various sets of plates, even the make of this solid meaty volume is delightfully mint, a highly collectable gem in my opinion ! ^^ plus my fingers are so itching for the giclée prints now so to speak, heheheh.......

~4/5Color me surprised, but this series has now been added to my automatic buy list. I wasn’t expecting it to get so good so fast, but it did.I was not expecting the development behind the deadmen, or there being others like Ganta. I’m not going to spoil it any more than that, though. I wasn’t expecting it, and honestly it’s a little horrifying. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised by the direction it went, seeing as how the whole place is set up, but I was. It was a bit more horrible and graphic than I thought it would be.We met some interesting characters this volume. I’m not sure if I’m going to like any of them, however. We’ll see how they develop, I suppose. We also got to know Yo a tiny bit more, and now I’m just unsure of him. He could go either way at this point.Ganta is a little whiny, and he’s very much a wimp. I don’t understand how he’s surviving through this whole thing. I want him to toughen up, and I guess I can only hope it’ll actually happen.Shiro, on the other hand, is my absolute favorite. How she just sneaks around the vents in the facility, and eats whatever she wants, and somehow no one seems to notice. She’s upbeat and fun, and adorable, and obviously hiding some very serious things behind it all. She’s amazing. I think I would stick around for this series simply for her. But also, that ending. She’s hiding some things. I cannot wait to find out what.I’m immensely intrigued by this series. We got some insight into how the whole place works, we saw some creepy things. I am intrigued and excited by it all. This is the second book in the Deadman Wonderland. I absolutely loved it! These books are so strange and just so intriguing.Ganta is recovering from the ordeals of book 1. When he finds out the Red Man is kept in Ward G, he begs Shiro to take him there. While in the mysterious Ward G Ganta finds out the true reason this place is called Deadman Wonderland. As a results of an impromtu battle in Ward G, Ganta finds himself fighting in the Carnival of Corpses.In this book Ganta starts to unravel the secrets of Deadman Wonderland, including what/who is really kept in Ward G. We also learn more about Shiro and get to see her truly kick butt in some scenes.I really loved all the interesting revelations in this story. There is a lot of dark humor in here as well which I really enjoyed. There is also a ton of action, which was well done and fun to read about.These mangas are very well drawn as well. My only complaint is that this manga suffers from giant-boob syndrome (all the women in here have absolutely ginormous breasts that are completely improbable).Overall an incredibly well done horror-action-dystopian themed manga. I really loved it and can’t wait to read the next one in the series. This is a very gory and somewhat disturbing manga, that has some fascinating characters and a really interesting setting. I would recommend to those who like action-packed manga with a horror/dystopian theme to it.

The second volume managed a feat I didn't think possible. It not only created a greater story and character depth, but it also blew away volume 1 in every possible aspect. Questions are answered, greater questions are asked and characters find themselves in situations that force growth and give the reader far greater understanding of their motivations and personalities.This is an impressive manga. I've never seen the anime and have no plans to watch it either. So, I have no idea how this stacks up in comparison. Sorry, but I'm a fan of the written word and always will be.I'm not big on spending full price on graphic novels and manga because I find the price high for the amount of story one receives in return. Despite this, I'll be purchasing the subsequent volumes of Deadman Wonderland. I'm hoping they're worth it. All signs indicate they will be.

This volume was better than the first (not that things were slow but they really speed up here!) We learn hints of a conspiracy and that things may not be as they seem. What I like so far about this series is the author doesn't have to build up suspense for a ton of volumes before cutting to the chase. He presents more questions quickly instead of lingering on the same ones. While that may work with some stories, it would not work with this one so the author is doing the right thing. Let's not forget the artist! The art is great too! Really captures the emotions! Well, I am going to buy all 13 volumes as they release! If you are watching/thinking about watching the anime, I recommend the manga as it is more fast-paced and the anime doesn't cover the whole story. See you again!

The story was soooo awesome, the anime only got so far (they also screwed some plot points up and killed off certain characters that are needed later) and these books fill in the holes in a great way.11,
