The first chapter starts out with a ton of recipes that help you to clean your house using baking soda, vinegar, lemon juice and many more regular, everyday items. The second chapter goes into how to make things that help your house smell its best from drier sheets to homemade potpourri. Next the book shows you how to keep your pantry organized and up to date while you learn how to make anything you need to clean your kitchen in the next. Make dishwasher and dishwashing liquids, how to get rid of grease, make your pans shine, clean your oven and make stainless steel sparkle. The amount of information that I didn’t realize I needed from this book is uncanny. Starting off with different recipes for cleaning solutions really blew my mind. The amount of money I can save by making my own cleaning solutions was something I never thought of. The second chapter of this book might be my favorite. The entirety of it explains in detail how to make different fragrances. The way to eliminate garbage smell is one of the most useful things I’ve learned. I’m an entirely different person since I purchased and read this book. Never again will I look at organizing and home cleaning the same way. Also, there are many eco friendly ideas that are practical. Every single detail in this book is important. Thanks Susan!
I thought there would be practical advice on step by step tips to clean and organize the home. This was basically a recipe book for homemade cleaners using herbs, vinegar, and other stuff, which is fine, but I didn't want a book of recipes.I wanted practical advice on how to straighten up my home.
I always get the nesting and organizing bug around the beginning of the new year so I like to read up on organization tips and tricks. This book was really good! Many books give the same tips but this book really did have simple solutions that I hadn't thought of before. The organizational tips were great and timely. I picked up a few nice boxes for more storage like the book suggested. I also made my own bamboo diffusers! I didn't know it was that easy.If you are starting an eco friendly or healthy home for the new year, this is also a great home organizational resource. This book gives you natural disinfectant and cleanser recipes for you to try. My daughter and I suffer from skin allergies so I'm glad to give some of these things a try. It's really worth the read.
This is my new home organizing handbook! It has a huge amount of useful information I will be accessing frequently. I especially appreciated the simple cleaning concoctions made out of everyday ingredients that are nontoxic, but boy, are they powerful! Vinegar, borax and a few other common items are becoming my preferred go-to items.I'm using a simple method from this book to track the clothes in my closet, making it easier for me to let go of items I just don't use. I'm now using simple air fresheners that don't add toxins to my environment but make my home smell wonderful. and all for pennies compared to what I'd be buying in the store. I'm using organizing tips from this book to help me know what food I have in my kitchen and what I'm running low on. Almost every room in my house is improving, thanks to tips I've applied from this book. And I'm still discovering more strategies to make my life easier, safer, and less stressful.
